Stay warm and dry with these Winter activities
There’s nothing better than a crisp and bright Winter’s Day but we know that they’re few and far between in Sussex. Lucky for you, we’ve wrapped up our favourite Winter activities to keep you and your family entertained (and dry) throughout the Christmas holidays.
If you’re looking for something to tire your little ones out, look no further than Out of Bounds in Angmering. Suitable for all ages, there’s laser tag, soft play, clip ‘n climb and bowling lanes. Also undercover is the Brighton Sea Life Centre where you can see over 3,500 underwater creatures including sharks, turtle, sea horses and rays. There are plenty of events for children too including interactive displays and rock pools.
Further along the coast in Eastbourne is Fort Fun – an indoor two-acre family park perfect for those under 13. If you’ve got a budding astronomer in the family, the Observatory Science Centre near Hailsham is very hands on and explores several subjects including astronomy, the earth and beyond, and light and colour.
A trip on the Bluebell Railway is always a hit with little ones no matter the weather. Climb aboard the vintage steam locomotive from Sheffield Park, Kingscote, East Grinstead or Horsted Keynes and spot the sights along the way.
If you’re looking for an educational day out, take a trip to Fishbourne Roman Palace and step back in time to learn the ancient history of the Romans. Marvel over the largest collection of mosaics in the UK and imagine life as a Roman over 2,000 years ago. If that doesn’t take your pick, the Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre is also family-friendly offering craft demonstrations, pottery workshops and transport exhibitions.

Let us know where your next rainy day takes you and enjoy one of the many indoor activities Sussex has to offer.
