The Secret Garden
We are delighted to announce that we are the hosting venue for this special performance of The Secret Garden, which is brought to you by the Musical Theatre students of the University of Chichester.
As part of their Musical Theatre & Fundraising degree course, they have been tasked to coordinate the whole production in conjunction with supporting a local fundraising project. They have chosen to support the museum’s ‘Titchfield Appeal.’ All ticket income (after VAT) will go towards the restoration of the Titchfield Market Hall.
About the Performance
The Secret Garden’s beautiful tale of forgiveness and renewal is a musical for all ages. Our production is set in the stunning award winning Gridshell Building, at the Weald & Downland Living Museum. Walk through the woodland garden, and enter our magical world, to meet 11-year-old orphan Mary Lennox. Our story begins as she returns from India to Yorkshire to start a new life with her reclusive uncle Archibald and his disabled child. Her uncle’s Yorkshire estate contains many wonders, including a magic garden that beckons the children with haunting melodies and the “Dreamers,” spirits from Mary’s past who guide her through her new life. Share the children’s adventure as they discover friendship and hope, a perfect treat for the Easter break.
