Book your tickets and join us for our Perennials Day and Plant Fair.

The RHS Herbaceous Plant Committee will be giving talks to help inspire you to grow perennials and to indulge in this wonderful group of plants. Plus take a tour of West Dean Gardens with our Head Gardener Tom Brown. There will also be a selection of nurseries with stalls selling their plants.

Talks and tours on the day include:

  • 11.00am – Gardens Tour

Take a tour of the West Dean Walled Garden with West Dean Head Gardener

  • 12.00pm – Steve Edney

Steve is a garden designer who is a member of the RHS Herbaceous Committee. He was the head gardener at Salutation to lead the award-winning restoration project. He is also known as the winner of the Chelsea Gold Medal, multiple RHS Gold medals and ‘Best in Show’ at Hampton Court Show.

  • 1.00pm – Bob Brown

Bob has been the vice chairman of the Herbaceous Committees of the RHS overseeing the Award of Garden Merit (AGM). He was awarded the Veitch Memorial Medal for contributions to the science and advancement of horticulture. Bob is a well known speaker and he writes for various magazines including Gardening Which.

  • 2.00pm – Kirsty Wilson

Kirsty manages a team of volunteers, experts and students at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and is responsible for the herbaceous collection at the garden. Previously, she worked for HRH King Charles III at Highgrove.

  • 2.30pm – Gardens Tour

Take a tour of the gardens (College grounds) with West Dean Head Gardener Tom Brown

  • 3.00pm – Gardener’s Question Time

If you have any perennial gardening questions now’s the perfect chance to get the answer from our panel of experts.

We’re delighted to offer West Dean Gardens Members and RHS Members free entry for this event. Please bring your West Dean or RHS Membership card to validate your ticket.

Tickets are available to buy online or at West Dean Gardens Gift Shop. Tickets will also be available on the day, but booking in advance is recommended.
