Mead Tasting in the Saxon Hall

Join us around the hearth in our Anglo Saxon Hall for an introduction to the wonders of mead, believed to be the oldest alcoholic drink in the world, with local producer and founder of Chalice Mead, Mike Wagstaff.

Mike will talk through the history of Mead, how he makes it, and give the opportunity to sample a variety of the wonderful flavours Chalice Mead produces.

After warming yourself around the fire you’ll have the exclusive opportunity to explore the ancient homes at Butser Ancient farm, from the Stone Age to the Saxons, on a wintery wander back through time.
