June will see Eastbourne’s Devonshire Park open its doors once again to the Eastbourne International WTA tournament, which has run in Eastbourne since 1975, showcasing some of the world's finest female tennis talent as well as the men from the ATP tour as they prepare for Wimbledon.

The sunny seaside setting has played host to some of the legends of the game, with previous champions including Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Virginia Wade, Caroline Wozniacki, Ekaterina Makarova, Kim Clijsters and Lindsey Davenport.

Enjoy the garden party atmosphere with Pimms, strawberries, champagne and picnics, or watch the stars warm up on the practice courts at close quarters.

Located just minutes from the beach, for your chance to experience the on court action and be a part of tennis

Eastbourne Feastival

Due to the on-going phenomenal success of this event and now with such strong support from both the local council plus the general public this is making the Feastival one of Eastbourne's go to events for people of all ages to enjoy a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

This family weekend long show brings together people from all over the globe mixing culture, food and music in a great setting at Hampden Park.

Ethnic dance groups, street artists, international singers, tribute acts and local music plus much more all on a purpose built stage.

International and local vendors selling a variety of food & drink from all over the world including Spanish, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, French, American, Mexican, Italian, English, Eastern European, Greek, African, Portuguese and Turkish.

Local brewers, wine merchants and restaurateurs will also be getting involved, showcasing their own unique food and drink.

A children's area including soft play, fairground style mechanical rides, bouncy castles and much more for kids of all ages to enjoy.

Lammas Festival

The Eastbourne Lammas Festival is a pageant of morris dancing and live music from traditional and folk-rock to modern jazz.

Now in its 18th year, Eastbourne Lammas Festival just gets bigger and better. Each day starts with Morris dancing in differing styles.

As always, Saturday's Carnival parade at 12pm promises to be spectacular. Dancers, drummers and festival-goers in performances at the Pier before making their way along the prom and returning to the Western Lawns, the main festival site.

Anyone, of any age is invited to join the parade if they come along to the Pier entrance at noon, though children must be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to dress up! Raid your dressing-up boxes, strap on a pair of fairy wings or garland your hair with flowers and join in. The more the merrier!

Lie back and laze in the sun by the sea as you listen to the music. Bring a picnic or choose from the variety of food and drinks that are on offer over the weekend including a Real Ale beer tent.

With clothing, book, jewellery and craft stalls and demonstrations, plus children's entertainment from face-painting and story-telling to Mouse Town, and bouncy castle, there is something for everyone.

The festival annually raises money for the RNLI with a Lifeboat demonstration. Please give generously throughout the weekend.

Beachlife Music and Street Food Festival, the south coast's coolest, funkiest weekend is back and guaranteed to keep you entertained all weekend long!

Look forward to a packed two days filled with outdoor pursuits! Featuring a Music Stage & Bar, gourmet delights from across the world, The VW Bus Stop Tour, Skate Park, Roller Derby, a funfair and more!

Visitors can get a taste for an extreme experience too with time on Eastbourne's shores as Buzz Active offer sessions in windsurfing and sailing.

Battle Extreme the UK's largest slalom competition takes place on both days...join Skate World skaters and instructors for this Festival of skating....games and prizes!

Eastbourne Sk8school provide skating displays along with the ever popular Roller Derby at the Cage, Fisherman's Green.

Stand up paddleboarding or ‘SUP’ for short is taking the world by storm. It’s great for adults and kids alike, and Buzz Active offer lots of ways to try out this latest water sport at either of their centres, book a private lesson, join the social sessions or grab your friends and take part in the XL Paddleboard competition!

Take a picnic or stop off at one of the refreshment stalls lining the seafront and soak in the festival atmosphere.

Bring your friends and cheer on local acts appearing on the Live Music stage for non-stop music, or keep the children entertained with rides at Fort Fun or the local fun fair.

And if you prefer to leave the action to the experts, then Beach Life Festival is the perfect event to kick back and chill out at. The VW Bus Stop Tour is back as colourful VW Camper Vans line the promenade bringing an authentic surfer's paradise to Eastbourne beach!

Come one, come all! Marvel at the curiosities, revel in the entertainment, indulge in the delights! There will be entertainment, live music, beer tent, stalls and a children's fair.

Spanning from the Wishtower slopes to the Bandstand, this event aims to astound, dazzle, entertain and delight visitors of all ages. The evening of the Saturday will also host an adult only night’s entertainment; a masked ball venue to be confirmed, featuring music, dancing, burlesque and much more!

A ten-day festival is being held in Eastbourne to encourage people to get out and about, be active and discover the joy of walking. From tranquil coastal strolls in Eastbourne and the South Downs to the culture and history of the town, dog friendly walks and nature walks, you will be sure to find a walk that's suitable for you!

So get on your walking shoes and come and join the many walks taking place across Eastbourne, the South Downs, and surrounding areas.

Eastbourne Seafront Soapbox

2021 will see a new event take place in Eastbourne where participants are encouraged to build their own soapbox in order to race each other along the seafront. The race will take place on Dukes Drive and finish at Helen Gardens.

Spectators are able to watch these wacky creations as they hilariously whizz around corners with the hope of staying in one piece by the time they reach the finish line!

Beachy Head Marathon and 10k

The Beachy Head Marathon is one the biggest off-road marathons in the UK. Formerly known as the Seven Sisters Marathon, it is popular for its scenic and challenging route through the South Downs National Park countryside. Great for runners, joggers or walkers looking to get fit.

The Beachy Head Half is new in its second year and begins on Sunday 17 October 2021. The route will encompass much of the marathon route, however will detour into new surroundings which still have that amazing, picturesque scenery.

The 10k run will set off with a route comprising of breathtaking views and challenges, taking a shorter looping route across the Downs to Belle Tout Lighthouse and back.

Start/Finish from Eastbourne Seafront at the start of the South Downs Way.
