An Ancient Winter Magical Adventure at Butser Ancient Farm

Come to Butser for a fun festive adventure for all the family. ‘Yule’ have a magical time this Christmas exploring the ancient buildings around the farm and uncovering the folklore of Winter!

Our magical map will guide you around the site, connecting you with nature to discover the ancient traditions of Winter. We will invite you into our beautiful houses where you may spot the Deer Queen summoning the light back, and meet the Holly King merrily keeping the winter freeze at bay. They may even need your help this Winter…

There will be make-and-take crafts in our cosy ancient houses for kids of all ages. You will be able to gather round the warming fires and watch the flames leap and dance while your little ones create presents to take home.

We will be serving hot, mulled drinks and sweet treats for all our winter adventurers to purchase in our shop. And you will even be able to get those last Christmas gifts at our lovely shop before you leave.
