Aldingbourne Country Centre

The Aldingbourne Country Centre is a 'Great day out' in Sussex, there's so much to see and do, all year round.

If you like the idea of supporting a local charity by having fun, the Aldingbourne Country Centre is worth a visit. With our animals on the open farm, maze, mini golf, ride-on tractors, castle playground, sand and water play, soft play and Woodland Walk. Seasonal activities take place during the school holidays and we have delicious locally sourced and home cooked food available in our Café.

The Aldingbourne Trust charity supports adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and there are people with disabilities working on site. By visiting the Country Centre you will be making a big difference to the people we support.

Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest

Lady Oak Lane, Goudhurst, Kent

Open all year, Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest is home to the National Conifer Collection.

The pinetum is recognised as one of the most complete collections of conifers on one site anywhere in the world, is a centre for international conifer conservation, and contains more than 12,000 trees, including rare, endangered and historically important specimens.

Bedgebury Forest offers facilities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy activities such as adventure play, walking, cycling, mountain-biking, running, and Go Ape tree top adventures. The Bedgebury Café enjoys panoramic views across the pinetum.

Bedgebury offers events and activities throughout the year including family and seasonal trails, nature walks and talks, school holiday events, and Forest Live Concerts. You can even find a Gruffalo in the pinetum! There is also a dedicated learning team offering a whole range of learning opportunities for schools.

The site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, in the heart of the High Weald. Bewl is open all year and offers a range of activities, including fishing, sailing, cycling and boating, trips on the Bewl Belle and an adventure playground. With two food outlets on the shoreline, a stunning Boat House Bistro and café, as well as ample parking facilities a visit to this stunning reservoir is a must.

A small family friendly campsite with 9 pitches offers a relaxing break in a stunning location in the heart of the South Downs National Park. In a quiet corner of the grounds to Bignor Roman Villa our campsite is only here to enjoy over the summer months. Enjoy beautiful views from your tent a mile from the South Downs Way. Whether its an energetic bike ride or a gentle stroll this is the perfect location. Only 20 mins by car from our nearest beach and close to many picturesque market towns.

You are booking a pitch ONLY based on a per person per night price. Children under 5 are FREE. We DO NOT supply tents, please ensure you bring everything you need during your stay. We DO NOT accept caravans, trailer tents or motorhomes. Please note our site DOES NOT have ANY electricity or facilities for waste disposal for your own portable camping toilets. Our site offers toilet & shower facilities which will be deep cleaned throughout the day according to Covid-19 hygiene standards. Great location to go exploring & sight seeing in West Sussex & the South East of England. Set within the grounds of Bignor Roman Villa on a 2000 acre mixed arable & livestock farm. Throughout August we have a 12 acre Maize Maze. Excellent pubs in the vicinity and one within walking distance. Immediate access to some of the best cycling & walking routes in the South of England. Cyclists & Walkers welcome. In May 2016 the SDNP became the worlds newest international Dark Skies Reserve and is one of the best spots for star gazing. It’s very dark at night so don’t forget your torch! Please recycle & dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Please remember we are a working farm. We regret we are unable to welcome large groups or party bookings at this time.

Blue Reef Aquarium Hastings

Bluebell Railway

Sheffield Park Station, East Sussex

Bluebell Railway operates along an 11-mile track between Sheffield Park and the market town of East Grinstead, stopping at Horsted Keynes and Kingscote stations along the way.

The steam railway commenced train services in August 1960, and is now home to one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives and carriages – many of which were preserved straight out of service from British Railways.

During your visit, learn about the history and science of the industrial age, experience the thrill of getting up close to a working steam locomotive and luxuriate in the comfort and style of a bygone era. Families can enjoy getting hands-on in our interactive exhibitions in SteamWorks!, and children can play in our play and picnic areas while parents relax with a cuppa from our catering outlets.

Borde Hill Garden

This heritage Garden is renowned for its rare shrubs and champion trees, created from specimens accumulated by the great plant collectors and tended with passion by four generations of the Stephenson Clarke family. Borde Hill combines outstanding vistas with tranquil outdoor garden rooms, including the fragrant Rose Garden and scenic Italian Garden.

Visitors can also enjoy woodland walks, picnics by the lakes, or watch the kids play in the Adventure Playground. There are unique events throughout the season including Roses in Bloom, live music in the Garden throughout the summer, and family trails during the school holidays. Dogs on leads are welcome. The Canal has up to four daily trips on our boat Kingfisher. Richmond offers catered cruises, for example a Fish and Chip cruise and an English Afternoon Tea cruise. Both boats offer a lift and Kingfisher has an accessible WC. Richmond is available for private charter for family celebrations.

Our Cafe overlooks the Canal Basin, where customers relax with a wide choice of drinks, mouthwatering cakes and light bites. It offers seating indoors, on a terrace or under the trees. There is a lift to the first floor and an accessible WC.

We offer rowing boats for hire and licences for paddleboards and canoes. Our Heritage Centre offers visitors almost 200 years of history.
