The Big Forest Find at Bedgebury Pinetum
This spring, Forestry England are inviting you to join in the biggest ever survey of England’s forest wildlife. The National Pinetum tree collection is managed in harmony with native flora and fauna, the huge diversity of tree species and landscape features provides a variety of habitats. The Big Forest Find begins with wildlife and conservation organisations expert-led walks and activities at Bedgebury National Pinetum from Saturday 25 May - Sunday 2 June.
As part of the project, Forestry England is inviting people to record forest wildlife using the free app iNaturalist. From birds and butterflies to insects and plant life on the forest floor, the information recorded will help to paint a better picture of England’s forest biodiversity today.
Download the app before you visit Bedgebury National Pinetum and join in the family activities and small group walks. The programme of self-led activities, free drop in sessions with experts and pre-bookable walks and tours include leaders from the Kent Countryside Partnership, South East Rivers Trust and Forest Research.
