The Aldingbourne Country Centre, there's so much to see and do, all year round!

If you like the idea of supporting a local charity by having fun, the Aldingbourne Country Centre is worth a visit. Woodland walk, animals on our open farm, maze, mini golf, ride-on pedal tractors, the enchanted garden are just some of the attractions to enjoy.

Seasonal activities take place during the school holidays and we have delicious home cooked food available in our Café. The charity supports adults with learning disabilities and there are people with disabilities working on site.

By visiting the Country Centre you will be supporting us and you will have a great day out too.

Arundel Wetland Centre

Mill Road, Arundel, West Sussex

This gorgeous wetland nature reserve bursts forth with wild life and fantastic family activities like Dusty's Wildlife Rangers activities in summer. The reserve has free boat rides, pond dipping and an amazing reedbed boardwalk. Wide, paved walkways lead to collection of 50 species of wildfowl from around the world in natural settings and 8 wildlife hides with ramps for easy access to view Sussex wildlife like kingfishers and water voles. Our Wetlands Discovery Boat Safari can even accommodate non-motorized wheelchairs which we also have for free loan at the admissons desk.

The Water’s Edge Cafe serves hot meals from 12-2pm and delicious cakes and specialty hot drinks all day. The WWT gift shop is open each day, every penny you spend supports conservation, here in Sussex, the UK and worldwide as the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust works to save wetlands for wildife and people.

Blue Reef Aquarium Hastings

Take the ultimate undersea safari at Blue Reef Aquarium, Hastings. Enjoy incredibly close encounters with seahorses, native sharks, giant octopus and hundreds of amazing aquatic creatures.

At the aquarium’s heart is a giant ocean display where you can walk through an underwater tunnel and come face to face with shoals of colourful fish. Explore our new jungle room housing exotic snakes and curious bearded dragons. Face your fears and get hands on with our reptiles in our daily animal encounters.

Butser Ancient Farm

A fascinating day out at Butser Ancient Farm, nestled within the rolling South Downs National Park. Discover ongoing reconstructions of ancient British homes and buildings, including Stone Age, Iron Age, Roman and Anglo Saxon, with rare breed animals and ancient crops. Butser is a world renowned experimental archaeological site with ever changing experiments, displays and projects, exploring and bringing the past to life. Join a traditional skills workshop, experience an ancient Celtic Festival and enjoy many other special events throughout the year. Dogs and picnics are welcome and there is a café with hot drinks and light refreshments. Free parking and good disabled access across the site.

Coombes Farm Experience

Church farm, Coombes, Lancing, Sussex

Enjoy an educational tractor and trailer ride to the top of the South Downs on our working family farm. Set in the environmentally sensitive South Downs, 1,000 acres of farmland with 800 ewes, 200 Sussex cattle, cornfields and conservation areas, views over the weald and out to sea.

Open daily at lambing time to see over 1,000 lambs and 80 calves being born from 16th March to 22nd April 2019.

Raystede Centre For Animal Welfare

At Raystede we are passionate about the wellbeing of all animals and are committed to giving them the best possible life. We rescue, rehome and provide sanctuary for more than 2000 animals each year.

Our Sanctuary, with its sizeable lakes, offers a safe haven for visiting waterfowl as well as our chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. We also offer a lifelong home for goats, horses, ponies, alpacas, sheep and donkeys that were abandoned.

Raystede is free to visit almost every day of the year and our educational service is very important to our work, we are visited by schools in East Sussex and beyond. We also offer guidance to all ages on caring for animals.

RSPB Dungeness

Dungeness Rd, Romney Marsh

Jutting out into the English Channel, Dungeness is the UK’s only desert landscape and home to many special animals including lizards, rare bumblebees and the endemic Sussex emerald moth. It is a magnet for all kinds of birdlife, from huge flocks of waterbirds to beautiful birds of prey, notably hobbies in the summer and marsh harriers all year round. Dungeness is also one of the few places in the South East with bearded tits – delicately marked birds found only in reedbeds.

RSPB Pagham Harbour

Selsey Rd, Chichester

One of Sussex’s few undeveloped stretches of coastline, Pagham Harbour combines beautiful landscapes with a rich historical heritage – and a wealth of wildlife. As the sheltered inlet at the heart of the reserve fills and empties with the tide, watch ducks, geese and wading birds fly to and fro. Resident little egrets and lapwings are joined by passing migrants in spring, while summer sees breeding little terns, butterflies flitting along the hedgerows, dragonflies hovering over ponds and lizards basking in the sun.

Join a beginners’ wildlife photography workshop, get creative at an artists’ wildlife painting workshop, or stargaze with experts at an astronomy night.





RSPB Pulborough Brooks

Wiggonholt, Pulborough

In the glorious South Downs National Park, Pulborough Brooks has amazing views of the Arun Valley. It provides an all-year-round home for nature, with highlights including the nightingale, famed for the beauty of its song, whistling wigeons in flooded winter meadows, and pretty butterflies and dragonflies amongst the wild flowers in the sunnier months. The variety of habitats, including wetlands, woodland and heathland, bring with them a wonderful variety of species to enjoy.

Join us at one of our special events, such as our creative Inspired by Nature workshops, or a night-time safari. Or, go wild with our Wild Families team, and try ditch dipping, den building or join a snakehunt.



SEALIFE Brighton

Here at SEA LIFE Brighton you can make up your mind and see them all - from the curious and the rescued to the rare and the enigmatic. And you’ll be able to get closer to them than ever before.

23rd March - 6th May: Become the newest recruits of the Jawsome Rangers and fulfil the mission of finding the missing shark teeth. Help Professor Finn find the Play-Doh model shark teeth in the tanks, and get hands on in our Play-Doh areas! Plus get the chance to touch real shark teeth and learn all about the oceans greatest predators!

We're open every day apart from Christmas Day. We are open for admissions every day between 10am and 4pm, closing at 5pm.

Tilgate Park and Nature Centre

Tilgate Park, Tilgate drive, Crawley, West Sussex RH10 5PQ

The Award winning Tilgate Park and Nature Centre, situated on the outskirts of Crawley, is a true gem. Boasting a mix of open spaces, lakes, woodlands and landscaped gardens including a Walled garden with an event space, children's maze and a café. There are water sports on the main lake, a children's outdoor play area, a junior and an adult Go Ape tree top adventure course, a Smith and Western restaurant and even a golf course on site.

The Nature Centre is open all year round (excluding 25th December) and is home to amazing animals from around the world ranging from the much loved meerkats, pigs and goats to the weird and wonderful creatures such as tapir, capybara, macaws, chameleons, wallabies and reindeer. Animal experiences with the meerkats and tapir are available (needs to be booked in advance) and even a junior keeper experience for the day. Birthday parties can also be booked in our adjacent Barn with animal experiences included.

Tulleys Farm

Tulleys Farm has evolved into a countryside venue for Seasonal Family Events such as the world famous Halloween festivals. The Farm is the home of our famous Tea Room and Garden, with Play Area and Animal Patch - OPEN DAILY year round. Tulleys is also the ideal place to hold your function, business or family, festival and weddings.

Our Family Events includes spooky daytime fun for younger children and Night time Scares for over 15s at the Shocktober Fest Scream Park. 'Haunts' include the Haunted Hayride, The Cellar Haunted House, Street Theatre and lots more thrills!.

The year closes with our hugely popular Family Christmas Event and Christmas Store, including 'Santa's Post House' 'Santa's Sleigh Ride' fun Puppet Shows and lots of fun.
