Spring Barn Farm Park

Spring Barn Farm is the perfect family day out, just one mile from Lewes or a short drive from Brighton. Open year round, there is always so much to see and do! There are lots of animals waiting to meet you, take part in our daily activities schedule. Then head to the barn for fab indoor play with mega slides, young ride-on tractor drivers course and Under 5’s soft play area. Outside, enjoy adventure play, zip wire, jumping pillows (weather dependent) and more!

The farmhouse kitchen serves delicious home-cooked meals (including a full kids menu), tempting cakes and cream teas, then take time to browse the farm shop, full of local produce and homemade products.

The Aldingbourne Country Centre, there's so much to see and do, all year round!

If you like the idea of supporting a local charity by having fun, the Aldingbourne Country Centre is worth a visit. Woodland walk, animals on our open farm, birds of prey from Hawking About, mini golf, ride-on pedal tractors, the enchanted garden are just some of the attractions to enjoy.

Seasonal activities take place during the school holidays and we have delicious home cooked food available in our Café. The charity supports adults with learning disabilities and there are people with disabilities working on site.

By visiting the Country Centre you will be supporting us and you will have a great day out too.

Arundel Wetland Centre

Mill Road, Arundel, West Sussex

This gorgeous wetland nature reserve bursts forth with new life in spring with fantastic family activities like the GIANT Duck Hunt at Easter and the LEGO Brick animals trail in May-June. The reserve has free boat rides, pond dipping and an amazing reedbed boardwalk. Wide, paved walkways lead to collection of 50 species of wildfowl from around the world in natural settings and 8 wildlife hides with ramps for easy access to view Sussex wildlife like kingfishers and water voles. Our Wetlands Discovery Boat Safari can even accommodate non-motorized wheelchairs which we also have for free loan at the admissons desk.

The Water’s Edge Cafe serves hot meals from 12-2pm and delicious cakes and specialty hot drinks all day. The WWT gift shop is open each day, every penny you spend supports conservation, here in Sussex, the UK and worldwide as the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust works to save wetlands for wildife and people.

Blue Reef Aquarium Hastings

Take the ultimate undersea safari at Blue Reef Aquarium, Hastings. Enjoy incredibly close encounters with seahorses, native sharks, giant octopus and hundreds of amazing aquatic creatures.

At the aquarium’s heart is a giant ocean display where you can walk through an underwater tunnel and come face to face with shoals of colourful fish. Coombes Farm Experience

Church farm, Coombes, Lancing, Sussex

Enjoy an educational tractor and trailer ride to the top of the South Downs on our working family farm. Set in the environmentally sensitive South Downs, 1,000 acres of farmland with 800 ewes, 200 Sussex cattle, cornfields and conservation areas, views over the weald and out to sea.

Open daily at lambing time to see over 1,000 lambs and 80 calves being born from 18th March to 23rd April 2017. Other trips available. National Cat Centre

The National Cat Centre can be found nestled in the beautiful of the Ashdown Forest. Just 6 miles from the town of East Grinstead, at the heart of the NCC is the Adoption Centre, the UK's largest cat rehoming centre.

You can meet the cats & kittens looking for loving new homes before venturing over to the welcoming Visitor Centre. The Visitor Centre houses a gift shop, cafe and meeting facilities. The cafe serves hot and cold food as well as tasty homemade cakes. In the shop you will find all your pet essentials as well as an array of gifts. Beyond the centre is a stunning Nature Trail, taking in the surroundings of the Ashdown Forest. The centre is open 10am-4pm daily.

Raystede Centre For Animal Welfare

The Broyle, Ringmer, East Sussex

At Raystede we are passionate about the wellbeing of all animals and are committed to giving them the best possible life. We rescue, rehome and provide sanctuary for more than 2000 animals each year.

Our Sanctuary, with its sizeable lakes, offers a safe haven for visiting waterfowl as well as our chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. We also offer a lifelong home for goats, horses, ponies, alpacas, sheep and donkeys that were abandoned.

Raystede is free to visit almost every day of the year and our educational service is very important to our work, we are visited by schools in East Sussex and beyond. We also offer guidance to all ages on caring for animals.

The Sealife Centre

SEA LIFE Brighton is situated right on the sea-front next to Brighton's iconic pier, SEA LIFE Brighton is the world's oldest operating aquarium and provides a fascinating insight into life below the waves.

We're open every day apart from Christmas Day. We are open for admissions every day between 10am and 4pm, closing at 5pm.
